UKMLA Ready for 2024 & Beyond

Master the United Kingdom Medical Licensing Assessment

Required for all UK medical students graduating from 2024–25 onwards and international doctors (replacing PLAB). Prepare for both the Applied Knowledge Test (AKT) and Clinical and Professional Skills Assessment (CPSA).

Applied Knowledge Test (AKT)

Practice for the on-screen multiple-choice exam. Test your application of medical knowledge to different scenarios mapped to the GMC MLA content map.

Required for UK Graduates

All medical students graduating from UK universities from the academic year 2024–25 onwards will be required to pass the MLA to join the medical register.

International Medical Graduates

Replacing the PLAB test, the MLA is mandatory for international doctors wanting to practise in the UK. The test will run four times a year worldwide.
